The Process

The process of rock tumbling involves adding stones or minerals to the rock tumbler along with some abrasives, such as grit, fillers, and water. The tumbler then rotates the barrel round and round non-stop for weeks at a time. The grit is what makes your rocks smooth and acts as the sand that nature uses to smooth and polish rocks.

The Product

I am not a geologist.  Rockit By Ed began at the time of the beginning of the Covid outbreak.  I got a used rock tumbler from a friend and ordered some rough rocks online.  The tumbling process requires some degree of patience, as there are 4 stages of tumbling, each one of which takes 5 to 7 days.  The first stage of tumbling takes the edges off the rough rock, the second one makes it smoother still, then moreso, and the final stage provides the beautiful, polished rock that ends up in each individual pyramid.  Each pyramid is unique, and evolves by combining different stones on the basis of color, balance, energy and overall design.  The end product is unique and satisfies aesthetics and energy that each stone emits.  I am very happy to see all these little works of art that have been born through no input or training from anyone else have been so well received.  These are all mine from beginning to end, and I am proud that so many people throughout the entire country have expressed a desire to own and display a one-of-a-kind creation that is produced by Rockit By Ed
